10 Nutrition Eating Habits

10 Nutrition Eating Habits

Hi guy’s today’s blog is written by Gareth Rossi, Gravity Fitness owner. We all have bad habits that we have picked up over the years that can affect our overall health and lifestyle. For one reason or another we have not committed to trying to change these habits to improve our lifestyle. Small changes each week for a prolonged period can make a huge impact on changing these habits.

Recent research indicates that if we try and change one habit a week, we have an 80% chance of being successful in sticking to these in the long run. Here at Gravity Fitness, we have our ten step habit change that we have our clients follow to help achieve a healthier lifestyle and ultimately achieve fitness goals. Clients aim for one goal each week, so hopefully after ten weeks they have created new healthier habits. If a client doesn’t stick to a goal one week then they don’t move onto the next goal until they achieve that goal so this could take longer than 10 weeks, but as the saying goes, Rome wasn’t built in a day! See our habit changes below:

  1. Drink more water
  2. Take a multi vitamin and fish oil every day
  3. Eat breakfast every morning
  4. Eat protein dense food at every main meal
  5. Save carbohydrates for before or after exercise
  6. Aim for 10 portions of fruit and/or vegetables a day
  7. Take smaller portions
  8. Slow down your eating
  9. Sleep 7 – 9 hours a night
  10. Alcohol & treats in moderation

Some people find habit change easy and straight forward, while others find it very difficult. If you are one of those people that find it difficult, remember you are not alone, so don’t be hard on yourself. Be patient, and remember perseverance is key and not to give up at the first hurdle. Get back on the horse and remember that habit change takes time. Gravity trainers are available to chat to you about your eating habits so ask questions and talk to other members, as they are probably attempting the same thing as you.
